I think it's perfect (and period) for a farmhouse. We have it on our counters and I love it! One of the things I love is that you can put hot pans directly on it. If you have any questions about it, just email me.<br />Or what about wood counters?<br />I had tile in our last house, and while I loved the look, hated cleaning the grout. Composites (and all things 'green')are outrageously expensive.<br />Since you said you've never done this before I would definitely go look at all of them before you rule anything in/out.
