The bummer about these lovelies is that they're always so shy, tilting their pretty little faces at the ground, so goofy-farmers-wife has to lay down to get the best shot.
Lest you think that everything is lovely around here I'm going to give you ugly...really ugly. This is the tiny woodland pond about three feet from where the delightful hellebores reside. It's full of winter leaves and gunk, cleaning this baby out is going to require a whole lot of farmgirl machisma (ya...that's a word...it means tuff-girl aint scared of dirty pond stink).
After that I can tackle this whole bunch of ugly. This happened last summer when I was working on the other side of the yard, and on the other side of the house, and probably on the other side of the mountains...yeah....there is a whole other project we're working on about four hours away...wheeeeee!
Anndddd....while I should be cleaning up all of this crazy mess....this little missy wants to be taken for a walk about every hour...minimum....if she had her way. Have leash will travel.

Oh that header!! It gets me every time!
The things we do for our blogs eh, that people think are strange!! I can totally relate to that :-)
I love that hellebore - the color is so pretty. I thought about taking photos of my daffodils today, but I'd have to lie down on my driveway to show them....LOL
Makes me want to run outside and check for hellebores-wait- I am really too tired to run anywhere. Docent dinner, you know. Nice shots but you know, you really don't have to show the ugly. It's a blog, you can leave out the ugly. ;)
But there's something still beautiful in the ugly. And how cute is your dog!?
The dog brings the leash???? How cute is that!!!
I wish I would have driven by and seen the farmer's crazy wife laying down taking pictures. I would have taken a picture of that myself! :)
I think it is pretty that the dog sits waiting for her hourly walk...
I think "odd" is such a lovely thing to be. thanks for all the trouble you took to share those beautiful photos.
Happy dog walks ;)
There could be tadpoles in that little pond. This eventually could lead to frog legs and a recipe for preparation. Hold the cloves.
If the pond has 'skeeters instead it might be a little tougher to find a proper recipe. Maybe if the little buggers are run through a pheasant they would be pleasant.
