Gone Huntin'

Deer hunting season is over...phew. Unfortunately those dastardly hunters always leave a few bits and pieces scattered around the property. An arrow here, a few other things there...and legs...Bergie always seems to think that she needs to bring legs back to the cabin to show me what a good little hunter she is.
I tell her what a good girl she is, and then I encourage her to bury it...
wish those hunters were as neat and tidy as my dog.
Oh well...

Man Camp Week

It's "Man Camp Week" in the Methow Valley.
Oh yes...deer hunting season.
Where 99% of the hunters make the other 1% look bad.
Every year it's the same story. We're working on our property, we cross paths with a hunter, we tell the hunter he's on private property.
Hunter tells us he's on state owned land.
He has a map in his truck.
He's been hunting here for years.
We don't know where our property lines are.
He has permission from the owner.
Those fence wires were cut when he got here.
The gate was open.
There aren't any No Trespassing No Hunting signs.

I'm curious.
Are all these corny excuses printed in the Hunters Manual?
Because every cornball camo wearing beer guzzling binocular peering doofus in a pickup truck going 30 mph in a 50 and shootin' from the side of the road seems to spew the same drivel.

There...I feel better.
Thanks.

My New Friends

Meet Spike, he's kinda shy.
This is Bucky, he's not shy at all.
They were looking in my kitchen window a couple of days ago. Actually they were taking a nap in the sun right outside my kitchen window and sorry to say...I woke them up.
Hey guys, stick around...you're totally safe here. The gate is locked, the signs are posted...and hunting season is OVER tomorrow. Yayyyy!
Stay low and close to the house...you should be okay.
Mi casa su casa.
