Autumn Joy

I'm late again for Ruby Tuesday....but I have an excuse! Yesterday it was dismal and rainy so photo ops were pretty grim. Today the sun is shining so I ran out back and got a shot of the Sedum 'Autumn Joy'.
Mary the teach over at Work of the Poet suggested fall foliage for Ruby Tuesday...this is pretty close to ruby, it's definitely fall around here and - the name of the plant is perfect!
To see more great photos check out the other participants at Mary's place.
Wishing you a happy and joyful autumn ;)

Ruby Tuesday

It's Ruby Tuesday! Whenever I'm blog-hopping on Tuesdays and I stumble upon the Ruby Tuesday posts, it makes me wish I had remembered to get one ready. Today was no different. I'm late but I'm posting one of the dahlias from the party Saturday night. This dark red dahlia reminds me of my grandpa's ruby ring, it was a deep dark red that was square cut. The Husband gave me a ring that is very similar to grandpa's...it's my favorite ring to wear because it reminds me of him.

Wahooo...Two!

I really want to play along in Jientje's photo challenge, it's called Opening Doors. I'm kinda breaking my own rules and posting this photo that I've used before, sometimes ya just gotta break the rules. This photo was taken this spring out in the party barn in our back yard. The cool thing is that this photo also works for Ruby Tuesday , I've never joined in on the Ruby Tuesday challenge but when I remembered this photo I figured it was just meant to be. I'll be on the lookout this week for some cool doors, hopefully I'll find a few so I can join in on the Opening Doors photo challenge that runs all week.
