Project Blue. Take Seven.

The lupine in my garden is looking lovely,

pretty soon that peony will open and steal

the show.

Project Blue. Take Six.

Grandma's canning jars made the perfect container for
flower arrangements this weekend.
It was a fun filled week, graduation parties, a bridal shower...
I'm whooped, a good time was had by all.

Project Blue. Take Five

I was all set to post a pretty garden picture...I was thinking about a pretty little blue violet, then I changed my mind and decided to post this picture of the blue oat grass in the back yard. I love the movement it gives to the perennial border. I'm stinky about that, I like to see plantings that have something that waves in the breeze...if nothing moves in a landscape it just seems frozen to me....sorta lifeless.
Speaking of lifeless, that's how I was feeling this afternoon. I've been up since 4:30 this morning, I couldn't sleep and I thought rather than toss and turn and keep The Husband awake I would just get up and make a few lists..I'm working in a bridal shower brunch for this Saturday and there are things I need to remember to do.
Anywhoooo....I never buy this coffee stuff, but I picked it up for the brunch/shower. A little while ago I could hardly keep my eyes open so I thought I would make myself an iced latte, and what the heck...I decided to put a little bit of this stuff in. Yowzaaaa...hokey-sugar-rush Nellie! It was gooooood! For about six minutes I felt like a million bucks, and now I just feel yucky. So much for the caffeine buzz I was hoping for, now I know why I don't buy this stuff.
Note to self, don't do that again.

Project Blue. Take Four

A glass garden ornament in the patio. A dear friend gave
this to me when my father passed away two years ago.
It's a lovely reminder of friends and family....
I've been richly blessed with the best of both.

Project Blue #3, From the Ground Up

Two projects in one...yippie. It took me a few moments to
realize that this "Blue" qualified for "Up".
I'm not an artist, but I had so much fun painting these clouds
out in the Party Barn. I took my inspiration from a photo I took
while sailing with some friends in the BVI's.
It was a glorious dayand it's great to be reminded of that sky when
I go out to the barnto work on projects.
The picture here is one I took the very first
day I had my digital camera...I just walked around the farm taking
shots...and I didn't have the foggiest idea how to work the thing.
The photo on my blog header was also taken that day.
I'm still tryingto figure out how to work the dang camera,
some days I think it was better when I didn't have a clue.
Sorta like painting the couds...not having a clue how to do it,
I just got up on a ladder and started to paint.

Project Blue, Take Two

The iris out by the fish ponds is putting on a really good
show this year, but the ponds are in serious
need of some attention...think slimy green and murky.
While I was working to capture this photo, showing the iris
and making sure the icky ponds weren't in the frame I dang
near fell in.
Now THAT would have made for a good blog story.
It's a two-post day, I want to play along with Anna Carson
in her Project Blue but I also want to finish JFargo's
From The Ground Up...makes for a busy blogger girl!

From the Ground Up, Project Blue

A shot of the Wisteria with the peak of the barn roof in the background. The Wisteria has been running rampant, I haven't pruned it in a couple of years but I sorta like how wild it is....and besides, it's not in the way. Okay...so it's a little more purple than blue....but it's just so pretty, I had to share it with blog land.

For more From the Ground Up participants check out JFargo at My World in Pictures and to see who is participating in Project Blue pop on over to Anna Carson's Blog.

From the Ground Up, Catch Up

I've been off-grid and unplugged so I've missed a few days of From the Ground-Up. Bummer. I've been looking around and catching up on some of the other participants project posts...they're great!
Today I was driving home and saw this avalanche chute...people were hiking up carrying snowboards and skis so they could ski or board down. What a lot of work for an icy, chunky, bumpy run. I love to ski...but give me a chairlift and a groomed run. Oh yeah....and ski patrols and avalanche safety crews. Call me a princess, I can take it.

I took this shot around the corner from the avalanche chute. It looks like another world, I know. It's exposed to the sun so the snow is melted off. If you click on the photo to enlarge it you can see a railing for a scenic look-out point at the top of the white rock area. It gives you some idea of the scale of the cliff.
I was going to tell you that I went rock climbing today and took this photo after I had finished rappelling down this rock face....you'd believe me....right? He he...
*Bloggers note: I just noticed that Anna Carson has announced Project Blue....guess this last shot qualifies for my first post. Prepare for Blue, Wahooo!
