I've been tagged!

Lori over at Lori's Lipsmacking Goodness tagged me...eeks! I'm not very good at this but I'll play along.

What was I doing ten years ago?

Life was crazy ten years ago. This Old Farm was a still a dairy farm, The Husband was working 7 days a week milking our 100 cows and farming. The alarm for him went off at 4 a.m. every day of the week. I drove tractor once in a while if I was around, which wasn't often.
I was working as a corporate trainer, training sales people for a company that sold framed art. My job was based in Seattle so we had an apartment in the city, although I was rarely there because the job required a great deal of travel...mostly in the western half of the United States. Needless to say, travel that requires airplanes still makes me a bit cranky.
The company is no longer in business. I had a great boss but the rest of the guys in upper management made so many ridiculous decisions it made me crazy. I called them the FBIS, pronounced fi-bees...otherwise known as "fat boys in suits". One time my District Manager insisted that I fly to Dallas for a dinner meeting. He wanted to instruct me how to use the new training manual. Uh...dude...I WROTE the manual...I think I probably know how to use it. To that he replied "just get here". So, I flew to Dallas from Seattle, had dinner...then my bos's boss told me all about the new training manual (that I wrote) then I flew back to Seattle the next morning. Brilliant waste of time and money. But dang, that sure was a cool new training manual, which my bos's boss took credit for writing.

What are five (non-work) things on my to-do list for today?

1. Go over recipe list for bridal shower brunch I'm co-hosting this weekend, see if I can find recipe for strawberries with lemon cream, last time I made that was 20 years ago.
2. Get outside and do some weeding if there is a break in the rain.
3. Pick up loan contract from the bank so we can read the fine print.
4. Shop for hinges, hardware and bathroom lights for the construction project.
5. Launder and press linens for shower.

Five snacks I enjoy:

local fresh fruit, in season...not shipped in from another country or even another county
anything dark chocolate
pistachios
Dove ice cream, love that layer of chocolate on top
sugar snap peas

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

A billion? That's a lot of responsibility!
Hire people to shut down puppy mills, fight hard to make them illegal.
Set up a foundation that would give kids who want to play sports the means to do so, ask my sister to chair the organization.
Give my friend who trains service dogs enough money to set up her own training/rescue center.
Turn the farm into a park in memory of my father-in-law, this side of town needs a park.
Send all the kids who call me "auntie" to college, but they gotta keep their grades up.
Build a "green" home on a dead-end road, not too big but with enough room to share.

Places I have lived:

haven't moved around much at all, I loooove the northwest.
this old farm
Seattle apt
Friday Harbor, WA (summer)
Roche Harbor, WA (summer)
Winthrop, WA cabin

Jobs I have had:

Sales - for a wholesale plant nursery,
Corporate Trainer,
Director of Sales and Vendor Relations -Industrial Packaging Broker,
Radiographer,
Independent Manufacturers Rep,

I tag......

I'm kinda scared to tag people...so I'm not going to. It was fun to play along though, so if anyone would like to participate I'd be oh so happy ;)

I did this meme not too long ago. I liked your answers better than mine.

Very interesting Shelly. I loved reading that. You have an interesting life! Thats what makes you a good artist besides innate talent.

There is a recipe at Gourmet for a desseert called Lemon Cloud. Its wonderful.

I was afraid to tag people as well. But I had fun and its nice getting to know people beyond their cyber faces. Thanks for being a good sport!

I love all the things you would do with your billions. You're such a good soul.

I did this a few weeks ago.
