Some days I want one of these....

I hate to admit it, but there are days when I pine for a long driveway with a gate at the entrance. A man in a gate house who takes calling cards is probably a little over the top I suppose. This isn't every day mind you, just the days when I have a list as long as my arm and high hopes of checking a lot of chores off that list. Some days it's blissfully quiet around here, of course those are the days when I'm in the mood for guests, the house is tidy, I've put myself together...no grease spots on the T-shirt, there are cookies that I could offer a guest to take with their tea ( that aren't even stale!), and I don't have dirt smears on my forehead. Nobody ever comes over on those days.
My sister and I were talking about this one day, she admits she has the same peeve. We really don't want to be this way, but we are. We just have a lot of things we want to get done and when anybody throws a wrench into our plan we get a little cranky...and then we feel bad.

Hey...at least I admit it.

I never have cookies to give to guests because mr. kenju will eat them if he knows they're here. I have to hide stuff from him, and then I forget about it and it gets stale.

SO funny!! I pretend I'm the princess here too and that I have loyal subjects to help with my chores... the jig is up though, I keep getting caught with my pink polka dotted rain boots all muddy and my shirts with stains all over the front. Some day you'll have to stop by and I'll set up a chair beside mine. All my hired help can serve us frosty drinks with umbrellas and fresh fruit, while we sun and look pretty. :)

I could use one of those gates. I only work two days a week (I am lucky), but why is it that everything happens in the evening on those two days? Geez! The rest of the week I have to catch up due to two busy days and night...so, not receiving visitors (or phone calls) a few of the other days would be handy.

I am the princess at my house - my royal subjects just don't seem to know that - it seems this princess is also a cab driver! :)

Happy Weekend!

Someday I am getting a gate. This mortifies my mom, she's afraid people will see the gate and think, who does she think she is?
She is someone who likes privacy and a warning!
Of course, now that She has a blog her guys feel like they are in the front yard in their boxers on a daily basis. So maybe I am not as private as I thought.

It always works that way for me too. The day the house is clean and the kitchen cupboards filled.. it is like a morgue. But catch me on a day with unwashed hair - dirty floors and unmade beds.. it is like bedlam at the front door. LOL I WANT some of those gates too!
